Bad day for my favourites

I know its a bit late news but i had written this down earlier itself on my computer.Just took time to create the blog so that i can post it. Me lazy you see. Here it comes..

I am a sports fanatic and watch all kind of sports. I have favourites in all sports. Yesterday turned out to be a bad day for my favourites. First to start with was asia cup finals.

Asia cup finals.
India having crusied through the league stages in the asia cup met the defending champions srilanka in the finals. India playing just four specialist bowlers did a good job of restricting the sri lankans to a score less than 300. And with the ultra flat pitches, targets over 300 were easily achieved. But the script of finals was different. Indians have made it an habit of losing in finals. But this time they were done in by excellent bowling. They did not throw their wickets they just couldn’t keep their wickets intact. The Indian batsmen were at loss for mendis magic. Mendis, the new wicket taking machine, is capable of bowling 6 different kind of deliveries in one over. Such is his variation. Indian batsmen’s lack of experience was exposed. They were impatient and his stump to stump line and his variation earned him his scalp of six wickets. The ball to yuvraj was a beauty. I was just amazed to see the ball. He was in completely wrong position and could never come back. It is near to impossible for new batsmen to read the ball from his hand. Dhoni alone did the right thing by trying to read the ball of the pitch which was easier than the former. But he got no support from the other end as wickets were tumbling like blocks and the result was inevitable. Mendis turned the game single handedly. Hope India removes its tag of chokers by winning a few series for a change.

British GP.
My next upset was in british gp. My favourite driver kimi raikonnen finished fourth after being second during the critical part of the race. Though I couldn’t see it on tv (set top box needed L) I felt that kimi couldn’t finish on top. Now on the overall standings he shares the top with massa and Hamilton who won easily in the british gp. Watch out kimi. Don’t let your opponents get too close.

Wimbledon
The greatest upset of all for me was the loss of federer to nadal in wimbledon finals. It wsa a match packed with action with the game constantly swaying on both sides from time to time. Federer having lost two sets came back strongly fighting off two championship points to level the scores 2-2. The final set was the best. At the end nadal survived doing the impossible beating federer in wimbledon. The era of federer seem to be waning. Federer is clearly in his worst form of his career not winning a single grand slam till now. Next the US open and the hard courts await federer. Can he make a mark in it???
